Melanie Mitchell Robertson is a native of Asheville, NC and has expressed her creativity as a classroom teacher and potter for over 30 years as she continues to study the unique female persona and includes, especially the face, in some of her forms. She fires cone 10 reduction, raku, and cone 6 electric….but her passions lie much deeper than the clay her hands caress and mold. Her soul is deeply embraced and devoted to community, education, and family. As a former potter resident at The Village Potters in Asheville, and now continuing as an on-going instructor at TVP, Melanie’s primary focus is nurturing the creativity in others.
For 38 years, Melanie has happily shared her life with her best friend and husband Mark. Their union has granted them 3 amazing children, Mitch (Brandy), Mary Ellen (Jake), and Micah and two beautiful grandchildren, Salyssa and Lukah….Melanie and Mark are also proud parents of Max, their fur-baby Black Labrador.
